I recently had a particularly awesome night at Sammy’s Roumanian Steakhouse to congratulate Alexis on graduating with an M.D./Ph.D. We ate chopped liver, danced the hora, drank from bottles of vodka frozen in blocks of ice, got majorly kvetched at for having vegetarians in our midst, used all of our willpower not to have a vintage bottle setlzerfight, received souvenir t-shirts, had fresh eggcreams prepared for us, and went crazy for 80’s bar mitzvah sing-a-long favorites, repeatedly ignoring the MC’s claims that “this would be the last song”. Not bad for a Wednesday night.
